Next edition — Oct 12, 2026 (CONFIRMED)
Atami holds fireworks over the bay on a published series of dates, rather than one annual summer night. The hills reflect the sound and the waterfront gives you a close view. Choose a date that fits your trip, then decide between a bay-facing hotel room and watching from the shore. The room's direction matters as much as the hotel's name.
How the date is set — A maintained multi-date calendar; check the listed next show rather than assuming a summer-only festival.
How often it runs — Several shows across the year; local district fireworks are separate events.
Goes first — The individual show night at the bay-front hotels; a room elsewhere in Atami is a different search.
Act by — Once you choose a listed show, ask the hotel which room category faces the fireworks before reserving.
The tourism association separates public waterfront viewing from hotel-guest viewing arrangements.

A sold-out listing may reopen after a cancellation or an additional room release. 空きウォッチ Aki checks Rakuten Travel for new openings, so you can act when one appears.
Watch the rooms — free, no account
Atami's repeated calendar gives you alternatives if one hotel night does not work. Check the next listed show and distinguish the main bay event from fireworks in neighbouring districts. A cool-season visit and a summer beach stay use the same waterfront but have different hotel-guest viewing arrangements.
Decide whether you want to watch from your room or from the shore. For the former, ask about the precise room category. For the latter, compare a convenient bed and a confirmed return route rather than paying for an unneeded bay-facing room. Follow the official pedestrian map when returning to the station.
Watch from the public waterfront or enquire about a hotel's guest viewing arrangement. The tourism association states that no paid public seats were installed for 2026.
Watching for free — Use permitted waterfront areas. The first section of Shinsui Park forbids place-holding; summer hotel-guest sections require the hotel's issued sheet.
How hard it actually is — 空きウォッチ Aki checks a selected bay-front hotel list, not all of Atami. An available room at one of those properties does not guarantee a fireworks view from that room. Confirm the view category with the hotel, or use the public shore and compare ordinary accommodation farther from the bay.
What a night costs — Compare the exact view category, meals and cancellation terms. A bay-front hotel's lowest-priced room may face another direction.
