Next edition — Jul 2–4, 2027 (CONFIRMED)
The Suzuka 8 Hours is the Japanese round of the FIM Endurance World Championship, raced each summer at Suzuka Circuit in Mie; the 48th edition runs 2–4 July 2027. It suits riders and racing fans ready for a long day outdoors. The practical bases are on the Kintetsu line between Nagoya and Matsusaka. Keep the Sunday night too: the race ends in the evening.
How the date is set — Suzuka Circuit sets each edition's dates with the championship; the 2027 dates were announced on 2 October 2026. Recent editions have moved: 19–21 July in 2024, 1–3 August in 2025, 3–5 July in 2026. Friday and Saturday carry practice and qualifying, Sunday the race.
How often it runs — First held in 1978 and a world championship round since 1980; 2026 was the 47th edition. The circuit and the series promoter have signed the event through 2029.
Goes first — Saturday 3 July 2027, the night before the race, is the one to secure first. Book Sunday 4 July as well: the race finishes in the evening, and the bus queue to Shiroko comes after it.
Act by — Hold a cancellable room for the nights of 2, 3 and 4 July 2027 as soon as your chosen hotel takes bookings for those dates, then watch the circuit's hotel and ticket notices.
Suzuka Circuit Hotel takes bookings only to 28 February 2027 so far and announces race dates separately; for the 20–22 November 2026 race it opened a cancellation wait-list on 22 October.

A sold-out listing may reopen after a cancellation or an additional room release. 空きウォッチ Aki checks Rakuten Travel for new openings, so you can act when one appears.

Each team shares one motorcycle among two or three riders, who take turns through the day. In 2026 the winners covered 188 laps of the 5.821 km circuit, close to 1,095 kilometres, and spent just over four minutes in the pit lane across six stops.
Suzuka is the only round of the championship held outside Europe, and the circuit Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki treat as home; Honda and Yamaha race factory teams here. The figure-of-eight layout and the midsummer weather make it one of the toughest races on the calendar, though not the longest.
The flag falls in the early evening, and tens of thousands of people leave at once, by car and on the Shiroko buses. The circuit warns that roads around it jam on big race days and journey times grow sharply, so the 20-minute ride to Kintetsu Shiroko becomes the slowest part of the trip.
The trains are forgiving. On the weekend timetable Kintetsu runs from Shiroko to Nagoya until after 23:00 and south to Tsu until midnight. The risk is planning anything else for Sunday night: a flight, a Shinkansen to Tokyo, a late check-in an hour away. Book the Sunday room and leave on Monday morning.
Spectators need a race ticket from Suzuka Circuit. The circuit confirmed the 2027 dates on 2 October 2026 and says ticket sale dates will follow.

Watching for free — Admission is by race ticket. In 2026, visitors aged 16 to 23 got in free on all three 8 Hours days with the circuit's 16-23 ZERO-yen pass; the circuit lists a passport among accepted IDs.
How hard it actually is — The circuit's own hotel and family campsite are on its grounds, but race-date rooms there are released on their own notices. Everyone else commutes: Tsu, Yokkaichi and Matsusaka are 15 to 40 minutes from Shiroko by Kintetsu, Nagoya about 50. 空きウォッチ Aki checks well-rated hotels listed on Rakuten Travel in the Tsu/Suzuka, Yokkaichi/Yunoyama Onsen and Matsusaka areas. Nagoya, and rooms sold only on the circuit hotel's own site, are outside the watch.
What a night costs — Budget the room, the race ticket and the Shiroko bus as one sum. 2027 ticket prices are not out yet; compare hotels on total price and cancellation terms, not distance alone.
