Know before you go

The local stations require an outdoor walk. Rain, luggage or difficulty walking can change which base is practical. Bad fit for: Visitors needing a step-free, door-to-door transfer without arranging it in advance.

An onsen room north of Fukui can add a final transfer and a dinner deadline after the show. Bad fit for: Travellers choosing an outlying inn solely because it has an opening.
