Kinugawa Onsen's fireworks (Hyakka Ryoran Hanabi) run on a dozen-plus nights, mostly Saturdays in August and September, and on our live checks an ordinary fireworks Saturday actually had MORE rooms open than a quiet off-season Saturday. What genuinely fills the town is the long-holiday calendar — Obon and Silver Week — and those are the nights Aki watches.
