Watching Wadayama, Takeda and Kinosaki hotels for the autumn sea of clouds at Takeda Castle.
Watched nights: dates to be announced. Base: Takeda Stn. This event is watched on demand: tap resume on the page to start it, and the instant a highly-rated hotel frees up (a cancellation), Aki alerts you with a one-click Rakuten Travel booking link.
The sea of clouds at Takeda Castle — the "Castle in the Sky" or "Japan's Machu Picchu" — appears on cold, radiationally-cooled autumn mornings. Catching it at dawn means staying local, but Takeda and Wadayama have very few inns (some machiya take just three groups a night), so many spill over to Kinosaki Onsen.
Pre-dawn stays on clear autumn mornings fill early. Rooms can return around last-minute free-cancellation deadlines, and Kinosaki Onsen and Toyooka add options on the Bantan Line.
