Sado is reachable only by ferry, so the island's total bed count is structurally capped. On race weekend, demand concentrates on inns near the swim start with early breakfasts and bike storage; the popular ones sell out right after booking opens, and some athletes rebook a year ahead.
Inns near the course tend to fill by March–April. Rooms can reappear around last-minute free-cancellation deadlines — watching inns a little further from the port too raises your odds.
