Gujo Odori is danced over 30-plus nights from July to September, and the Obon all-night dancing (Aug 13–16) draws dancers nationwide to the small castle town of Gujo-Hachiman. The central ryokan are very few and fill the moment booking opens, with rates rising too.
Central inns tend to sell out when booking opens ~3 months ahead. Rooms can return around last-minute free-cancellation deadlines, and widening to Seki, Mino or Gifu City keeps you within reach by the Nagaragawa Railway or car.
